Hanging out on a limb

I was in one of my favorite discount chains the other day and spotted some pictures I loved-

At $30 a pop, there was no way they were coming home with me-

so I took a few pics with my trusty phone

and started re-creating in my mind!

I am always picking up framed art at GW-not for the art but for the frames-

and with my trusty Krylon spray-

the frames are new to go!

After flipping the art over, I spray mounted some scrapbook paper from my stash-

My chalkboard vinyl was perfect for the birds and

the words would be created with "the machine"!!

I hadn't used this in awhile so I was excited to bring it back to life-

With a few cranks-it was set-

the letters popped out-

and I was good to go!!

I didn't want to use the same black vinyl for the limb

 so I decided to use the real thing and spray it

and I attached it with hot glue-

the clothespins also got a quick spray

and

voila, a simple and very cheap project-

floating pictures for my screened porch!
The smaller pic- mommy and daddy bird
and
the larger is the whole flock!

The whole thing cost me a whopping $3.98-( the cost of the 2 framed "art" pieces!)

I had everything else-

Just what I love, a cute and simple project for pennies!

The month of May is
 filled with such hope-

spring flowers blooming

days filled with sunshine

the birds and the bees



 

the apple trees

butterfly bushes

gardens galore

who could ask for more?

Spring has sprung.... inside!!

The sun it is a shining

but the temps they aren't arising-

oh well,
at least I can spring it up inside, right?

To me, spring means

flowers,birdies,nests

eggs,chicks,tulips

bunnies, cupcakes and dragonflies-

What do you have in your home

 to add a springy sunshine smile to your step?

Spring Break!

Don't we all need a spring break?

I am certainly due for one-

Our winter was brutal and

with spring around the corner,

I thought I'd show you a few touches

I've added to my home

to give my happy spring feel!

Do we see a trend?
SPRING means
 Birds, nests, eggs, flowers,topiaries, bees,dragonflies,
and whatever makes me smile-
it's just the beginning
but
it lightens the mood, puts a spring in my step
and
 makes me happy!
So, enjoy spring break
just don't forget the sunscreen!

Spring decorating

I have started adding pops of spring around my home-

 I had picked this up for $1.99 last summer-

This spring I painted it-

sometimes it takes me awhile but I do like how this turns out-

At Christmastime, I picked up a slew of calendars for $1 each at Michael's craft store.

I thought I might frame them,especially with all the bird pics!

The March page spoke to me first!

I cut it down to fit the wooden pear pic-

Took out the trusty Mod Podge

and went to town-

3 coats later and TA-DA!

How pretty!

So, keep your eyes open for inexpensive calendars-

the pictures can be framed inexpensively and

 when the calendar is a specific theme,

 you can frame up a set of 12 in a snap!!

Twiggy Tree

I love my twig tree-A Pier 1 clearance find a couple years ago and it warms my heart when I decorate it.  Now, don't get me wrong, the birds take it over most of the time. Throughout most of the year, white doves inhabit the tree but at Christmas time, the birdies fly south and I am able to hang my 12 days of Christmas glass ornaments that I cherish (a pottery barn gift from my sis!).  With the big Love day right around the corner, my red cardinals have appeared.  They always put a smile on my face and a song in my heart!
