Freshening up

When you look around your house,
do you ever get that feeling that things need to be fixed,
you know, freshened up,
to look clean and new again-

Some days, I think everything could use a touch up,
(including yours truly!)
So, I scrubbed down my potting table-
it's pretty color had aged over time -
being out in the elements-

I thought of staining it again, but
I need me some instant gratification-

you know what I mean,
"the instant" -a can of spray can give you!!
The transformation began-

Here it is with the 2nd coat on-

The final reveal-
what a difference a can of spray makes-
It's refreshed, renewed and revitalized!

Doesn't it look pretty?

I love what it does for that corner of my patio-
almost too pretty to work on! lol

My jewelry days ...

Over the past few years,
I made quite alot of jewelry.
I sold quite alot of jewelry too-
at craft fairs, at work, mostly to friends through friends-

I haven't made any in the past year.
Ever since I started blogging-
odd isn't it?
a blog about creativity and I stopped creating jewelry!
weird

But, I was in Michael's craft store the other day
and the beads are gorgeous-
Bead Landing™ Lampwork
My heart began to pitter patter and
I couldn't pull myself away without first picking some silver beads up-

I hesitated because I do have bins and bins of beads already-
but I saw these silver beads and knew immediately
that I needed to make a watchband with them-
All you need are 2 strands of beads, jelly wire, and 4 hooks-
Feed the jelly wire through beads, ending with the lobster claw clasp-
pull the thread through the clasp about 3 inches-
knot it and thread it back through the beads for a 2nd time!
Both bead strands should have lobster claw clasps on each end-

And that's exactly what I did!!
Clip the strands onto the watch face- VOILA!

So simple, but I think it's a beauty-
something I will wear anytime, anywhere-

I have other bands to clip to this watch
but I think this has a modern flair
with the chunky silver-
so simple to make-

I'm never gonna make it as a hand model-lol!
So, simple, cheap, fun-what else can you ask for??

Hurrah for harps

The Club GW outlet near my home,
is full-
some people may even call it a big building
 full of junk or garbage-

But, remember one man's junk
 may be another man's treasure...
or in my case,
 a woman's treasure!

I recently found a coffee table that was divine-
Her coat was abit tattered and somewhat torn
but her lines were lovely- so, so lovely...

Those beautiful carved harps
on her sides
 were simply to die for-

I needed to make her a rich black
sleek, and smooth -

I so love her-
the lines, the harp, her stature!!lol-
(I'm sounding somewhat obsessive about this table!!)
I have no space for it-
possibly a table my daughter might like in her apartment-
who knows...all I knew was- it was coming home for a bath and a new hairdo,
and that's what it got!

The most amazing thing-
the price-
at the outlet it cost
 a whopping $1.99-

YIPPEE!!

crazy, I know, but crazy true!

She's a real beauty-

Oval Monogram

I found this frame
minus the inserts at GW-
a quick spray of Krylon Heirloom White and it looked like this-

It's perfect for my all white wall-
but alone, all it looks like is an empty frame
so, after adding the letter R,
I decided a few shells would soften the arch of the frame
and the hard lines of the letter.

The white on white tones have added a soothing touch to my staircase-
although at times I do miss the wall of pictures,
the white objects are calming to the decor!

Some of my favorites this week

I love the creative juices that are flowing out in bloggyville!!
Here are a few of my favorites I found this week......
.
This pretty little picture wall was designed by
Jennifer at the home daybook -
she offers a great silhouette tutorial!
The stenciled wall by Gina is a beauty- check out her before and after
at a sense of design!

Becca, at gardenberger, created this french "Bee" lamp-
It's my dream shade-can't wait to attempt a lookalike!

I have a thing for bees!

So, take a look around and get inspired too!

Wedgewood Lookalike

Wedgewood is one of my favorite kinds of China -
When my girls were little, they received many pieces of the Peter Rabbit collection-
bowls, cups, banks and clocks-
Adorable keepsakes they will have for their own children...someday!
Wedgwood Peter Rabbit Original 2-Piece Set (Bowl, Mug)
My all time favorite Wedgewood is

Wedgwood Offerings to Apollo Goblet
Jasper Classic white on light blue!

This is also a beauty
Wedgwood Prestige Vase 26
It's called the Wedgewood Prestige Vase and I'm eyeing this for a future project-

Anyways, I found this ceramic stone pot for $.49- it was fine- but you know me-
Change it up -
I also found this foam cone topiary
I know, I know- the answer is yes- I found it at GW too!
I started cutting out circle and flower shapes from white felt,
pinching it in the middle and hot gluing it to the topiary form-

After covering the topiary with white felt flufflets,
I covered the stem with rope and continued down to the base of the topiary-
I made circles on the base with the string too-

Finally, I painted the pot wedgewood blue with white accents-
somewhat of a blue jasper copy cat, look alike but not really pot!!

Cute, huh?
