Secret Gardens

I love to garden-

Pulling weeds, dirt in my nails, planning and sitting back

To smell the roses-

My favorite part of the process is adding cool and unusual tchotchkes in and around the gardens!

I have found most of these treasures at Goodwill and curbside-

What's better than that!

I love when the gardens begin to over grow and the little gems are almost hidden-

It's like going on a treasure hunt!

My young niece has a ball tiptoeing through the paths and spotting a hidden piece here and there

I like to tell her it's my secret garden- bird houses and frogs pop up in the most unusual places!!

She loves exploring in the gardens- hopping from one stepping stone to the next!

Ahh... To be a 5 year old!!

Take care, gotta fly-

Garden tchotchkes!!

Garden tchotchkes are adorable!

You have to love a concrete gnome, welcome to my garden signs and painted pots-

they all make me smile when I walk through a garden-

Awhile back, I posted about garden "decor"-

what I love in a garden and what welcomes me in my own garden!

I do get many of my tchotchkes at Christmas Tree shop but in the past few years,

I've been lucky enough to grab some fab bargains at my Bff's-

Club GW as many of you refer to it has allowed my garden to flourish in

tchothkes!!!

Yesterday was no different-

I wasn't looking for them but lo and behold-

How could I resist these beauties- all for a whopping $3.25!!

You never know what you'll bump into!!

Well, take care, gotta fly- Claire

So, now that the porch is structurally sound,

the screens have been replaced

the fencing is in place

and the porch is lovely and liveable-

it was time for some lights outside-

but stringing lights is not as easy as it sounds

It's not that hard either!!

Placement is the key-

so the final outcome looks magical-

The magic of little Christmas lights, even in the summer,
gives a warm and cozy glow to
any decor, both inside and out!

Garden tchotchkes

When planning my garden design,

I always know what the main flowers will usually be-

my favorites, of course!

But,

just as important as the plants-

are the tchotchkes throughout the garden!

I find treasures in many places-
a great source

 to find garden decor is,

my fav GW or any thrift store-

I'm always on the lookout for iron, metal or tin objects

that can stand up in a little rain-

stone and ceramic stands give plants some lift-

a garden can hold just about anything you want

as long as you love it and it puts that smile on your face when you see it amongst your buds!

Well, gotta fly, Claire
