Reminiscing about last Christmas.....

I was strolling through my 2010 Christmas posts...
I got so nostalgic so I thought I'd share
some of my favorites from last year!
(Humor me, please!! )

These stockings are all show
They are quite feminine for my 3 gals
and they match my living room decor!
(the stockings that Santa fills are hand knit-
real stretchy so they can be filled to the brim!)
 and made by my aunt
Then last year we were lucky enough to get 2 pups-
what's a mom to do but make 2 more stockings
but with a different theme of course!!
The stockings put a huge smile on my face
and I thought you'd get a kick out of them too!!

Some other holiday favorites from past falalalala's....

Even my kitchen chandelier
 was invited to the festivities!!

I love looking back
 but I'm even more
excited about what's to come!

Remember what I said earlier in the week...

So, it's lovely to have my blog
to remember times past in pictures!

One thing I'm not changing this season is
my Gingerbread House making party!!

woohoo-
it's this weekend with my 7 nieces and nephews-
ranging in ages 11 down to 2 1/2!
Don't worry-I'll take plenty of pictures-
although my camera lens may be covered in frosting!!

Well, take care, gotta fly- Claire

The stockings were hung.....Part 2

Burlap. Toile. Unlikely partners in the design world but bff's in my world.  I made three lovely ladylike boot stockings for my 3 daughters but I thought I'd mix it up a bit and add 2 additional stockings now that we have 2 new puppies.  Finn and Maddie are not picky- as long as these stockings are filled with treats, they won't mind what their stockings are made of!!!  Burlap will hold treats well but the toile will match the decor much better! Soo cute!!  Well, there you have it-am I certifiable or what?!?!  Haha-lol Until next time-Gotta fly- Claire

And the stockings were hung... part 1

I am always looking at the fancy smancy Christmas stockings in all those fab catalogs- my daughters have had different decorative stockings over the years that I've either made or bought -mainly to match the living room decor! Their "real" stockings that Santa fills were knitted by my mom's cousin with their names on them-beautifully sentimental but they don't match so they don't get hung by the chimney until late Christmas Eve!  Well, you know my addiction with toile, right??  So, I made some cute ladies boot stockings with pointy toes and high heels with the toile that matches my chairs. Some lace and ribbon top the stockings off-LOVE them! For the hangers, I used crystal beaded tassel I had to jazz them up a bit! Can't wait for Christmas! (only kidding!!!)  Aren't they so feminine and perfect for those grown up daughters of mine!  Take care, Gotta fly!  Claire
(PS-The peg board was made when they were very little and the stenciling is out of date but I keep it for the sentimentality -someday I will repaint it and use those vinyl letters I adore!!)
(PSS- stay tuned for Part 2 of the toile stocking story!!)
