DIY Custom Curtains

We are all on the lookout for the perfect window treatments
But, sometimes are search leads us no where-

What's a person to do-

Make Them!

Yes, you can shop for the perfect fabric
and create a style you desire or-

You can do it the Sandra Lee way-
Semi homemade!

I was looking for neutral curtain panels
 for my oldest daughter's room-

I found a lovely pair at IKEA -
a creamy pair that had the look of quilting with a tone on tone pattern-

They looked nice-
but,
the bedding was cream

The bedside tables were cream
and the lamps were cream-

The tall, thin dressers were cream

Do you see where I'm going with this?

It needed a little something
to give the room a tiny bit of oomph!

I thought about returning them and making my own
but I wanted to use them-
Feeling a bit lazy and I truly loved the fabric,

I was browsing in Walmart and happened upon
a pretty pair of curtains -
a taupe and cream geometric pattern-

hmmmm......., should I?

Cutting the Walmart panels into strips -
I embellished the inside edges of the Ikea drapes
and I love how they turned out!

They are the finishing touch to the grown up room-
It's easy to customize a window treatment by combining
2 ready made panels-
if you can't sew, fabric glue is a great way to go-

Take care, gotta fly-
