The .99 cents Ottoman

This is the ottoman I found at the Goodwill outlet for .99 cents

Not bad, huh?

I found some gray menswear flannel fabric
at the regular Goodwill store in town-
I sometimes will see yardage on hangers from fabric stores,
and decorator samples-

It was listed at $4.99 for 3 yards but it rang up for $2.50-SCORE!

The legs were a bit beat up, so I used some Annie Sloan Paris Grey
and then finished them off with her dark wax-

After it dried, I laid the fabric over the ottoman

 and
cut it about 1/2 way down the leg-easier to deal with less fabric-

Once I determined there was enough fabric to cover the entire piece-
I trimmed the fabric even more, leaving just enough to fold under the bottom
without leaving a salvage edge-

I had just finished my quirky little chair and this bolt of rope was still lying around-
I used the thinner rope to edge the chair seat so I knew I could use it for this too!

The rope was a perfect binding accent-
I glued it around the base three times as well as the legs-

The perfect addition to my sister's home-
and the entire project cost me $3.50!!

The best part- a perfect match to her new Ikea sofa!

Before & after..

Sit back and put your feet up!

Take care, gotta fly-
