This Week's Favorites

With Halloween right around the corner,
the spooky crafts are everywhere!
Hold onto your broom and enjoy the ride!

These stacked pumpkin topiaries are the coolest!
Erin from Home Savvy created the pumpkin art with lights too-
check out the way she painted and created
these delightful decorations for the holiday!
(but don't eat crow!)

Kimberley from Restoration House
created a beauty of a mantel!
Have you ever seen such a serene scene-
the lavender hydrangeas with
the birch log candleholder add a richness I adore!
The white pumpkins, candlesticks and twigs
give it a rustic flair, too!

The cedar barn door was created by Alicia,
from Thrifty and Chic.  She built it from scratch,
added the grapevine wreathes,
and the miniature white pumpkins,
creating a magnificent mantel
 of natural neutrals!

Andrea and her friends over at a steeds life,
created the cutest mongrammed
and spiderized pumpkins I ever did see!
 The black and white motif
adds a spooky yet sophisticated look
and the lettering shows off
 the power of the Silhouette!

Hope you enjoyed the Halloween treats-
go check out these blogs
 and enjoy the show!

Oldies but Goodies!!

Although I have been a "real" blogger for the past year,
I stalked blogs for a full year before that!

I loved reading one and then stumble onto another one
listed on the previous, and so on and so on.......

but, there have been some blogs
I have read on a daily basis for the past 2 years-
they are all different but I can't get enough-
Today, I will spotlight 3 of my loves!

The 1st blog is Beneath My Heart, written by a gal I adore, Traci-
she started her blog from a loving push from her mom
and she dedicates her blog to her dear mom
who passed away shortly after she began writing it.
Tracy and her husband have taken on huge remodeling projects together and
she is a true inspiration as she raises her 4 sons,
takes on these projects and continues to make her house a home
 filled with love and care.
Traci's blog always makes me feel warm and cozy!
Here is just a hint of some of her talent-
the laundry room makeover!

The next blog, I'm sure, needs no introduction-
otherwise known as Sarah.
Sarah, the band teacher and the bub!
She is one talented lady, turning walls into art
with her incredible molding projects-
makes you drool like a fool-lol
Sarah is also a really generous
blogger, offering tips to improve your blogs-
Check this wall out- oh my!
DIY drum pendant light

The Nester, of The Nesting Place
 (and 3 other blogs!)
 is another favorite-
her blog is written with such a dry wit,
 and
she makes you feel right at home
as if you were her neighbor-
I laugh,
 alot,
as I'm reading about her life, with all her boys
 She has a beautiful
 well lived in home,
with lovely pieces,
creatively placed to please the eye-
She makes you think of your home as a haven, so
check out her family room...

I hope you run over
to check these 3 talented women out-
You will get inspired -
for your home
for your mind
and
for your soul-
enjoy the blessings they share with their readers-

Doors to shutters

Last year,
 I board and battened
 up my front hallway-

There were louver doors in that hallway,
 stained a dark wood color-
they didn't match the new look-

( didn't take pics of them
while they were still hanging in the hall)

so...
I took them down
and they've been in the garage for months
waiting for me to make a decision
These were my choices......
#1. paint them the same color as the new hallway
or
#2. put them in the basement and forget about them for years
or
#3. donate them to goodwill

Guess what-

I picked #4-
wasn't even in the running-lol!

I got out my old reliable,
 my bff Krylon
in black semi gloss
and painted the daylights out of them!

They are now black-
they are now on the outside of my house-
they are shutters on the sides of my garage doors-

I even painted the downspout so it blended in with the shutter!
(see left hand side of picture above-)

Have you ever heard of anything sillier?

Well, I gotta say I LOVE it!!!

What do you think?
Aren't they cute?

The finishing touch to the garage!!

You never know what crazy things I can think up-
but hopefully I'll keep you surprised and chuckling!

Well, take care- gotta fly-Claire
