Lovin' Tile!

I love to tile.  I am not the most accurate with measurement but it usually all works out.  My husband and I tiled the kitchen back splash about 10 years ago.  We knew what we wanted-- white and cheap was the key. (Any hand painted tiles were way too expensive for our wallet.)  Home Depot had exactly what we wanted and back then, if you bought the tile from them, they would make the intricate cuts you needed! I found a picture of a wreath I loved.  Luckily, I have a super talented sister.  She painted the wreath on tiles with craft paint for glass.  Then , I baked them following the paint directions. I installed them over my sink and they have greeted me each morning for the last 10 years. I needed something pretty to look at since I didn't have a window to look out of!
Tiling stair risers is another quick fix to a boring staircase.  I recently tiled the risers at my sister's house.  These Mexican tiles were adhered to the risers in her family room in about two hours.  Small cuts were needed for each row and  I used an inexpensive, portable  hand held tile cutter .  It was quick,  simple and the best part is that it looks like a million bucks!

Tabletops are another place to decorate with tiles.  This was simple and I actually measured and they fit perfectly!  Tiling is a fun and creative way to change your home.  For the most part it is inexpensive.  Usually the expense is hiring professionals to do the job.  But now with the internet at your fingertips, tiling is as easy as 1-2-3.  Well, hope you enjoyed my trip down memory lane! Take care-gotta fly! Claire
