Nests

As I was wandering around my home, I was struck by a constant theme in each room. Birds. Nests. Birds in nests. Nests in trees. Birds in nests in trees. Eggs in nests. Nests were everywhere in my decorating. Ceramic birds. China birds. Fabric birds. Bird lamps. Bird nest in cloches. Vinyl birds. Bird lettering. There were birds in every room. If I didn't know better, I would have thought it had been well planned out-but it wasn't. I have a thing for nests. Big, small, twiggy, fabric, hard, soft, brown, white. Themes, you gotta love 'em. I love thinking of my home as a nest. A warm cozy nest that wraps around all of us and keeps us safe. I love adding to my nest, little by little, and layer by layer.
