Trees by design-The" Cardinal"

   Christmas Tree Poem

Christmas tree, sparkling bright,
Filled with baubles, warmth and light,
Precious symbol of our affection
For Christmas time and its perfection,
Show each night your radiant glory

For "oohs" and "aahs" obligatory.
Christmas tree, don't let us down;
Show something special at your crown,
An angel, star, or splendid piece
To make our holiday joy increase,
An icon, pure, ideal, complete,
For Christmas memories fond and sweet.
Glitter and glisten, gleam and glow,
Oh Christmas tree, we love you so!
By J. Fuchs

I love to decorate in themes-birds, monograms, golf, etc., so when it comes to my Christmas trees, I go a bit wacky!  Of course, in my golf themed family room, we have a small tree filled with golf balls and golf decor. A santa golfer, a golfing nutcracker and golfing byers carolers round out the theme for the Christmas golfing themed room!
Another tree I have had since my girls were young is the noah's ark tree.  We have some beautiful folk art ornaments, a paper animal garland from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as well as many wooden animal ornaments that my daughters and I painted years ago. The are scattered among the branches two by two!
The Americana tree came with the Desert Storm years and has remained because of the patriotic theme.  The Santas, bears, and flag ornaments are all American inspired and the white stars are made from craft foam and have lasted a good long time!
The cardinal tree is filled with boughs of greenery, pinecones, holly, nests and birds all decked out with a large burlap musical themed ribbon from top to bottom!
The white feather tree is small and delicate.  This adorns my powder room and fills the corner with a little bit of heavenly happiness.  White birdies deck it out in style!
The gold branch tree is my newest addition.  I love the simple lines so much that it remains up all year with a different theme.  It now has the pleasure of welcoming 12 of the most beautiful hand painted glass 12 days of Christmas ornaments.  They were a special gift last Christmas so I am thrilled to be able to display them this year! Today is my cardinal tree's debut. Take a bow red beauty! Tomorrow I'll show you some more trees!Well, Gotta get back to my decorating, so take care-gotta fly-Claire

  1. Thank you for sharing your cardinal tree. You see, my grandpa passed away 11 years ago. When he did, a cardinal was right outside the windowsinging loudly. Then again at his funeral, a cardinal was right outside the church singing. We had to wait until spring to bury him and yet again, there was that cardinal. Now whenever I see a cardinal, I remember my grandpa and what a wonderful man he was. Merry Christmas!
