My trip to Goodwill scored this cute little hutch - $39- I did the happy little bargain dance and quietly tore the tag off and skipped to the cashier! This was not in pristine condition but I've seen worse. Both sides had peeling veneer and my idea was to use beadboard to cover up the ugly! On my hunt, I stumbled upon paintable "tin ceiling" wallpaper - BINGO- I found the perfect solution. I measured it, cut it, spray adhesived it. I gave the whole piece a few coats of satin black spraypaint. I added crystal knobs and it's ready for its premiere! At least, it's ready for a Christmas collection or two! Well, gotta fly! Claire
WOW!!! Looks amazing Claire! I love the tin look on the sides. I would totally hire you to decorate my house!

This is AMAZING! I love it! The detailing on the original piece looks so beautiful painted black, and I love the tin ceiling wall paper on the sides. The white Christmas decorations inside are the perfect touch! You are so talented! When are you opening that store, missy?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful piece of art. Looks FAB with that black colour.
