Saturday Favorites

I love Saturdays!
My favorites of the week make me smile!!
Kim from Weathered Pieces took a sad, discarded chair
and turned it into a piece for the ages-
How, you ask?
With Ce Ce Caldwell's paint-
now it has the look of burlap and is absolutely scrumptious!

Beth from Make Me Pretty Again
did just that with an old buffet-
After stripping it down, she used a milk paint in blue
to add a lovely piece to her home!

Danika over at Gorgeous Shiny Things
got creative with her bookcase-
She found fab marbled paper at Paper Mojo
and lined the backs of the bookshelf-
It looks amazing!

Suzan from Simply Vintageous
took two blah end tables and with
a stencil and ASCP created
a pair of pinterest worthy tables-
love the colors and stencil she used!
Funny gal-head over to get some laughs!!

Jennifer over at Hey Little Mother created a piece
of art I adore-
She needed to fill a space between two windows and
jumped on the monogram bandwagon-
(you all know how much I LOVE monogrammed things!)
She painted a chevron design, hubby framed it out with molding
and she hung her monogram from Etsy for all to admire!

Liz Marie from Liz Marie blog
created this charming light fixture for
her laundry room using a wire basket she
refashioned into a shade for under $15-
this industrial look is so in demand and she
nailed it!

Hope you liked the features this week-

Have a lovely weekend

Pops of Pinterest Pink

Although I have 3 daughters, I am not a big fan of pink decor-
Fabrics, throw rugs and pillows are about as far
as I went when decorating my girls rooms-

But, wow-
If Pinterest had been around back in those days
Pink would be my color choice in many spaces!

Love this hot pink buffalo check!

The punches of pink in this room remind me

Saturday Favorites

My favorite day of the week is finally here!
Check out these creative bloggers today-
I hit the jackpot this week!!

Cynthia from Cloches and Lavender
created this elegant piece using leftover scrap wood
and a little help from her hubby-
Don't you love the rich colors she chose?
Go check out her blog and you'll be amazed!

Kathy from Cottage Dreams transformed an
old dresser she found at salvation army 25 years ago!
The colors and faded stencils
make this piece pop with excitement-Love!
She even used the old hardware-what a thrifty gal!!

I have seen many ideas on Pinterest lately using corks-
Well, Barbara from 21 Rosemary Lane created
an adorable serving tray with just that!
She painted an old serving tray she had
 with a homemade batch
of chalk paint-
used pieces of corks and added some twine detail-
Aside from looking fab, it's so functional!!
Gotta try this-need more wine!

Debbie from Refresh Restyle did just what her blog title says!
She was lucky enough to score a "free" couch
 from a family moving-
And look what she did!!
Her transformation is a-ma-zing-
You have to check out the before
and you're not going to believe
what that creative soul accomplished-WOW!!!

Courtney from French Country Cottage
created a simple burlap bag to hang some lovely blooms
Not a big project but a dreamy look
to add some cottage appeal to your home!
Her blog is eye candy for the soul so don't miss a visit!

Hope you enjoyed my favorites-
Have a lovely weekend

Life....

Blogging has truly been a huge part of my life these past few years-
I love every minute of it-
The creative people I have met and admired are a joy-

But sometimes life happens-
You may have noticed my posts are not as steady

Life isn't steady all the time
so I will continue to blog as much as I can
but family is the biggest part of my heart and
right now,
family has to take the forefront

because life happens-

thank you for always reading
I will still be here-

One of my absolute favorites accent colors is aqua-

She chose ASCP, a first coat in old white

renewed an old GW yellow ottoman with a
 much more friendly blue
that fits her decor perfectly!
The best part is that she used paint-how creative!

Priceless Pin Love

Pinterest is certainly holding my interest these days!
Let me show you the ways....
Porch swings are making a comeback these days-
memories of childhood, simpler times and good old kid fun!

This first swing is created from old door, an antique table top
and the arms were fashioned out of the table leg supports - with a cushioned seat-
It makes me want to take it for a spin!

Pinned Image

This next swing is a chunky beauty-
It was designed after an antique bed inspiration!
Dreaming of the many wonderful naps I could have on it!

This swing was featured at a Cashiers Showhouse
covered in nubby linen with nailhead trim

This pop of color brings visions of giggle galore-
a twin bed refashioned into a porch swing-
The hanging daybed looks comfy for all to enjoy!

Pinned Image

This swing makes me swoon-
what a beautiful place to catch an afternoon nap-
listening to the waves!!

Hope I brought you back to some wonderful childhood memories-
lazy days of yesteryear!
