Copycat!

I love showcasing creative bloggers every Saturday-
In February, I showed you a terracotta flowerpot here...

I really loved it-
so I decided to copy it...
1st- the supplies- a clay pot, sculpey clay
I rolled out small clay pieces into flower like shapes-
I cut the stem off-
Baked for 15 min. at 275-
 All ready to glue-
Gorilla glue worked well-

All done- now ready for the paint!!
I used my
bff - Rustoleum's
Satin Heirloom White
spray paint

It couldn't be cuter
or simpler!!

Spring Doorways

Spring is finally here
and it really lightens the mood,
 don't you think?
The sweet scent filled air, the buds beginning to burst
 and longer sun filled days
make my step abit lighter!

I love what you've done to your doors
to welcome spring into your homes
and I thought I'd show off a few of yours
 that I really a"door"ed-LOL

Over On Sutton Place, Ann has made quite the statement
Her door and plant stands are stunning and
she created her springtime wreath
with the nest and watering can-so charming!
She'll give you the step by step too!!

Another beautiful entry that caught my eye
created this adorable robins egg blue wreath to welcome spring
I see these in all the stores but she shows us
how to make the perfect one -
I love how the eggs look like they are laying in grass!!

these colors shook my world
faux babys breath in lavender and green
 look gorgeous against her door-
the plaid ribbon is the icing on the cake

Keeping up with the times is a new read for me
but I'm smitten-
Barb has created a beautiful pussy willow wreath
 using her backyard materials-
you have to check her out in the snow collecting them!
These springtime doors make my heart sing-
and I know you'll agree

Spring Wreath

I was looking around
my house gathering supplies
 for a new spring wreath-
I had this artificial boxwood wreath at Christmas-
I removed the angel
and it looked fresh and clean-
Last summer, I picked up this little nested wreath
at Club GW for 50 cents.
I layered them together,
but it needed something else.
A wooden monogram and a birdhouse
added the perfect touch to
create this springtime favorite-
(don't mind the pot and clay-that's for another post-lol!!)

After painting the "R"-it wasn't quite right-
scrapbook paper and mod podge did the trick

After, layering the wreathes together
along with the birdhouse and monogram
my new spring wreath looks right at home on the front door!!
Birds and monograms = smiles galore!!
Love this look!!

Favorites from this week

Saturday is here-
that means it's favorites time again!

Michelle, from Stitch a wish designs
created this little beauty from a dollar store find...
She used rose soap petals, a foam block, a sheet of music
and designed her own pretty table decor-
So, love this design at almost no cost...

Rachel, from suits and aprons
created her own chalk paint and
turned this dreary wooden mirror
into this dreamy turquoise looking glass-
Beautiful color and job!
Next up, Mary from The Decorative Paintbrush
is an amazing artist- I just found her blog
but she also has an Etsy store to drool over-
She created this adorable bookcase
going from unpainted to this lady love-
you have to check her out-woohoo!!

Emily, from Decor Chick
created a little spring vase
with a mason jar and some spray paint-
what a little aqua can do in a room is amazing!!

Easter crafts revisited

As March draws closer to an end,
Easter will be upon us before we know it-

I don't decorate the house like I did
 when my girls were little-
egg trees, rabbits hopping everywhere, baskets.....

but last year I was inspired
from all the creativity in bloggyville-
there was so much talk about plastic eggs
and my fingers got itchy to craft with them, so
this is what I began with-plastic eggs from the dollar store
and white dimensional paint-
go crazy with dots, doodads and swirls...
next, my bff -spraypaint those plastic eggs-
I used a cream color

Next, glue thoses babies to a large styrofoam ball
and add some paper confetti.

I still love this and can't wait to take it out for the holiday!!

Pantry Clean up

I love to see all of your organizing tips-
although my word for the year is "organize"
I have yet to achieve that in my home
until today...

This is my horrid pantry-
a big 'ole mess
it hurts to show this mess off-
really!
I even had a shoe holder filled with paints
hanging off the door-YUCK!

no beautiful french door will appear-
no wooden shelves
just a plain old shelf organizing
First step was to empty this out
and take out all the shelves.
Okay-now I wanted to brighten it up
but only use what I have-
I had bought some pretty wrapping paper last year
but kept forgetting to use it-crazy, I know!

boring-no
White birch trees on a crystal blue background with
cardinals scattered among the branches-

Mattie's checking it out-sorry no treats!
Love the birdies, don't you?
the shelves are now in order
it's certainly not the most beautiful
 I've seen online
but it's clean, fresh and tidy- lol

This may not excite you
but I'm doing the happy dance!!
