Garden expansion

I have been so busy!!

lol

Just like the rest of you!!

but

I did mention how much I loved to garden,

didn't I?

So, why not make another garden and enlarge one, too!

Now that the nice weather has arrived,

there's no better way

to spend my free time

 than out in the garden!

I just love puttering

 and

 designing where I want the plants to nestle-

Most of the plants are recycled from my other gardens

which were exploding to the brim-

So, without further chatter

I present my little piece of heaven-
(imagine when it's flowing with flowers- until next time)

Table for one!

This is the little table I scored at GW awhile back-

at 4.99 I just had to snatch it up-

not that I knew what I would do with it-

but does that ever really matter? lol

So, I took out old Mr.Reliable

 (no, not hubby!)

my Rustoleum primer spray paint

and went to town-

I decided it might be cute in the porch

 so white, blue and green were the colors I was thinking-

After sanding it down abit-
a nice coat of primer

then a nice coat of white

With a little paint and an abstract flower-

My GW table has found a home in my porch!

"R" you ready?

I love initials and monograms-

there's something special about personalizing spaces

 and I try to do a little bit in every room!

So, I had this little R just hanging around-

I've sprayed them-

wrapped them in twine-

mod podged them-

but never floralized them-

until now!!

With a small bunch of blue-violet hydrangeas
and a glue gun- I went to town!!

(pardon the pic but a rainy week means picture taking isn't pretty!)

But, here's my very pretty and oh, so, girly "R" -

I just love it !

My porch gets a beating every winter.

Snow, rain and sleet pummel the screens

and the rug-

The pups ripped the screens last summer

 just as I finished with the re-screening- of course!!

My job this weekend was to begin the restoring of my porch

washing the rug,

washing the wicker furniture,

washing the walls,

swatting the spider nests in the corners-YUCK!!

It's beginning to look familiar to me but,

I've got to do something with those screens again!

Darn pups!

I'm thinking about attaching some type of fencing

 along the patio side of the porch

so those frisky puppies

won't rip through them again!!

YIKES!!

So, I'll show you the end result when I get my rear in gear!!

Gardening Love

I don't know about you

 but

gardening gives me peace-

a kind of indescribable serenity

with

dirt under my nails

and

flowerpots overflowing with annuals

Perennials pop through the dirt

with nary a care

filling up the garden with beauty

in the blink of an eye-

my favorites

 that return each year are

hostas

lilies

clematis vines

and phlox

fill my heart with joy
and my eyes with wonder lust

My garden is my oasis,
my place to escape from all the cares of the day
and of the world-

MIA

Sorry, I've been m.i.a. lately-

the illness I talked about was a tooth abscess

which landed me in the E.R. 3x in a week and a half-

big bummer

lots of family things going on too but

I'm back and I missed my pals-

Spring has finally arrived full force in Connecticut

and I couldn't be happier

putzing in the garden always puts a smile on my face-

With the pups around now,

I've had to add more paths

 so my poor flowers aren't smushed too much-

so far, they are behaving and

they are so darn cute that

I can't get too mad!!

Goodwill #6

What's a week without

a stop at Goodwill-

Don't know what I'll do with this-

For 50 cents, it was well worth the chuckle!!

This tissue cozy is quite pretty

and will look divine in my powder room

without changing it up abit!

Love the stiffy bow in the frou frou fabric-

It was $1.00, too!!

Last, but not least, a metal stand-

tried out some craft paints which may work out in my "craft" room,

but for $2.99, who cares-

I can spray it white

and add it to my valentine treats

(notice the towering heart)

All in all, another good time had at Goodwill!!
