Where have all the fabric stores gone?

Lately, I've been into making pillows
ruffled, rosettes,toile,silk, burlap with bees!
I'm always trolling the fabric stores-whoops-I mean store-
Have you seen a decrease of fabric stores in your area??
I'm so sad -we had some fab fabric stores in some surrounding towns and -
all gone
Joann's is the only one in town-literally!
I've ordered fabric online and luckily it's all worked out fine-
you buy a swatch to match it up at home
and then the online store credits you
when you place your actual order-

But,
I miss the touch,
the feel of the fabric between my fingers-
touching the computer screen doesn't feel the same!
Just thought I'd share my thoughts with my online therapists!!
Have a great day-

Goodwill hunting #2

This week I went to a couple GW stores-
Again, I was not looking for anything specific-
the trio of wicker and metal trays were a total of $3.50-
This cute frame matches my daughter's bedding!
Can't beat it for 99 cents!
This tall basket was $1.99, never used
and has a sturdy plastic insert for flowers-
This will be a great base for a mini topiary!!!!
I found some great tchotchkes for more projects-
Two ugly gold plastic birds on dogwood branches for .99 each-
with a quick spray of paint- Adorable!
The blue and white china tea cup and saucer was 99 cents-
I have a cute idea for it!
The pink wicker-look china pot
and blue and white pot were each 49 cents!!

So, for a grand total of about $11-
I have some fab doodads
to have great fun with!!
Take care-Gotta fly-Claire

Trays

This ugly and dirty round tray was a find at Goodwill.
It cost me a cool $2.99-
the frame was .99-
After a cleaning and a quick spray of primer,
I painted this with my bff - Behr heavy cream!
Aren't the lines of the edges pretty and feminine?

I had a roll of blue and white toile paper that I got year's ago.
It's a little thicker than wrapping paper.
I cut it to fit the inside of the frames-
I mod podged the trays with a couple coats and they dried overnight!
Pretty feminine trays for my dining room-
May I serve you please??
haha, gotta fly-Claire

Featuring..

I was featured today over at one of my favs http://bornagaincrafter.blogspot.com/
thanks for making my day!

Medallion Makeover

I picked this up at GW for $1.99- Doesn't it look like a heavy chunk of wood?
Guess what?
It's made out of foam,
 not spongy or squishy -
but more like a foamish ceiling tile-
I painted it in Heavy Cream (Behr's)-
I know you will all faint when I don't use this paint
but it's my new fav, the bff!!
After painting, I sanded it down abit-a little distressing never hurt anyone!
Up close and personal-
It's a pretty little ditty and I'm lovin' the cream on cream look!!
